December Goals

It's hard to believe tomorrow is December 1st. Where has the time gone? This year flew by, but it's really no wonder. Between crossfit and blogging, styled shoots and e-book writing, seminars and trips to the Caribbean, Tennessee, Austin, and Florida, it's been a busy one! And it's not slowing down anytime soon. I'm working to launch Salad Club, the ebook and I have a few other special projects up my sleeve. This year was full of learning, planning, and growing but I hope next year is about executing.

As part of that, I'm using December to prepare myself for what I hope is a very big year for Fit for a Bride. I sat down with my husband a few nights ago and rattled off all my entrepreneurial hopes and dreams, and we made a list of goals. One project at a time, I hope to make these dreams a realty. Doing this is imperative, because when I listen to the desires of my heart, they say GO. FOR. IT.

More than anything, I want to help people. Like really help people. In my media kit, I share:

I'm a writer and I believe in the power of storytelling. I love connecting people and experiences, and creating communities where change and growth can occur. This blog is the start of that. A place where women, like myself, in the midst of a major milestone, whether marriage or motherhood, can share their stories of self-betterment and empower others to better themselves too.

THIS is what my soul is saying...

THIS is the essence of what I want this blog, my brand, and my business to be all about.

THIS is me, my sock bun and my big dreams. :)

This time of year is prime for this kind of reflection, too. It was just last December when I worked day and night getting the website ready, writing up posts, and mentally preparing for the launch of my "big idea."

I thought fireworks would go off when I first hit "publish," and in my heart, they did, but since then, it's been a slow start. Even though I've gotten frustrated about that at times, I wouldn't change a thing about this last year. It's been a GREAT first year and I know next year will be even better.

So in December, my goal is to put more into blog posts - make them more interesting, more useful, more pleasing to the eye. Plan ahead for awesome, one-of-kind content in 2013. And also be more mindful of my time,  working on making the business happen; not just the blog.

Does any of that make sense? I sure hope so. It does to me.

Just keep swimming as they say. That's the goal for December!
