Good morning and happy Wedding Wednesday! Today I'm sharing a beautiful Northern Virginia wedding that took place right around the corner from where I live! I love this area, the venues, the vendors, and this photographer, so I'm really excited to feature them all on my site. Thank you Gronde Photography for your submission - what a beautiful, timeless event! And congratulations Kathryn and Nic!
From Gronde Photography:
Kathryn grew up in Old Town Alexandria, one of the pretties cities in Northern Virginia which made for a perfect location for their ceremony. After the traditional catholic ceremony we made our way through some of the beautiful homes and gardens in Old Town talking with the owners and friends of the Mother of the Bride who still owns a home there. Kathryn is an active duty Navy nurse, which we love since we are both Navy veterans ourselves! This also made the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA a perfect and elegant location for Kathryn and Nic's reception.
From Gronde Photography (Cont'd):
One of the highlights for was when Kathryn introduced us to one of the guests, her mother's neighbor who, being sailors ourselves, immediately recognized as The Honorable Ray Mabus, Secretary of the Navy. As the reception went on and party continued under the music of a live music by The Odyssey Band, one of our favorites guests was Nic's 90 year old grandmother who was beautiful and sharp as a tack! She told me, "Do you know I'm 90 years old?" I replied, "No! You don't look a day over 75!" She grabbed my arm and responded, "Bless your heart!" She even made it out onto the dance floor to shake it up her son and daughter-in-law. It was quite a memorable affair, and one we will be talking about for quite some time!
Band: Odyssey Band of DC
