My 3rd Wedding Anniversary

"Your shine is something like a mirror. And I can't help but notice,You reflect in this heart of mine." -Justin Timberlake

My Wedding

It's funny Justin Timberlake songs are always our songs. I remember Aaron singing My Love to me back in the day... gosh, what was it? Almost 7 years ago now, when we first met. I thought he was crazy! Declaring his love for me, but I kinda liked it, too. Haha. What girl wouldn't?

Now there's new meaning behind the songs we sing to each other and Mirror by Timberlake seems most fitting... I do see a part of myself when I look at Aaron - I see all the things I most love and care about, and I see our past and the possibilities of what lie ahead - it all sort of culminates with him... Like the song says, "It's like I'm lookin' right at the other half of me."

The love I feel for Aaron gets stronger every year, too. There have been so many affirming moments in our relationship when I think, "I'm so glad I married this man," and moments when I feel genuinely excited about our future and genuinely grateful for what we share now.

I think this year was a particularly big one for us, too. We went on our first cruise last summer and spent New Year's in Florence, Italy! We started doing CrossFit together and in a few short weeks, Aaron will be graduating from Georgetown (yea! go babe)! And it just adds to my excitement for the future when I think of what the future holds: buying a house and starting a family - there's so much to look forward to!

It sounds corny but I'm so glad I put my money on this guy because everyday I feel like I'm winning! Haha! WINNING!!! :)

We don't have any big plans for commemorating our third anniversary, maybe a special dinner this weekend, which I'm fine with. I'm secretly plotting on a big five-year anniversary trip back to Costa Rica...

How many years have you been with your mate? Has it gotten better with time?

What are some of your songs?
